Cool Telecom Smart Voicemail utilizes three different greetings recordings:
You can click here to see examples below

  • Unavailable greeting - Greeting heard if you do not pick up a call.
  • Busy greeting - Greeting heard if you are already on another call.
  • Name - Played if you didn't record the other greetings (unavailable and busy). Also played if your PBX has a directory set up.

To record new greetings, do the following.

Press VM button
(Enter your voicemail password followed by #, if prompted to do so.)
Press ZERO
Press 1 — (or press 2 for Busy, 3 for name.)
Record your new greeting after the beep.
Press #
Press 1 to listen to the recording.
Press 2 to save the recording.
Press 3 to re-record the recording.

Repeat the process for the other recordings by following the prompts. When you're finished, simply hang up.

NOTE: Although your voicemail is set up to allow someone to try your cell phone extension, this feature is optional. If you don't want your callers trying your cell phone extension, simply omit the part about "pressing 2" from your outgoing voicemail greeting.

Example recordings

If you would like to try me on my cell phone, press 2 now. Otherwise, please leave a message when prompted and I will return your call as soon as possible. Thanks for calling Anderson Plumbing.

Example Unavailable Greeting:

Hi, this is Tom Anderson with Anderson Plumbing. I am on another call at the moment. If you would like to speak to someone else, you can press 1 now. Otherwise, please leave a message when prompted and I will return your call as soon as possible. Thanks for calling Anderson Plumbing.

Example Busy Greeting:

(Notice we left out the part about pressing "1" to try the cell phone. If you're already on a call, calling the cell phone won't accomplish much.)
